62 notch work.

as billy told me ACORNS, i did alot more but little to show for it, the left side brakes, steering and stuff are all done, the right side is in bits (waiting for paint to dry) while the tanks out i thought i'd throw some paint on the underside BUT>>>>>when its done who will see it???

i pulled the back window out, it was rusty but not nearly as bad as i thought it would be, so the angle grinder with wire brush earned its pay and i threw some paint on that as well!

62 notch work.

am I p!ssed off or what? i thought i'd do the front brakes, i thought all they needed was checking, tightening and some fluid chucking in there. boy was i wrong! the discs are shot, theres a caliper missing on the pass side, the master cylinder has been up graded to a dual circuit system but th pipes are just chucked in there, no wiring (yet). the tie rods are the early ones, so the didnt fit late model arms, i thought i'd swap the tie rod ends over, it should have been an easy job but some one… Continue

T3 Cargo Area Retrimming

Just spent a day re-trimming the cargo area of my T3. It had looked very knocked around since I got it, and as my kids and I frequently sleep in the back while camping, I wanted to at least make it presentable.

What I had done previously was cut a piece of rubber matting (from Clark Rubber) to size so I could cart things around without them sliding everywhere. I then cut three foam mattresses to size and had covers made (skull and cross bones for my son).

Yesterday I… Continue

Front spoiler for my T3

Today I was lucky enough to score a used front spoiler for my T3 from Kombi Rescue. I have had my eye out for one for a few years now, and aside from bringing a new one in from the US or UK (and spending big dollars), I could see no other option. That said, Steve Muller from Kombi Rescue saved the day again - and before Old Bar.

Suffice it to say I'm happy.…

High School Kombi Resto Project

This week I got along to my step daughters high school for an exhibition of all the projects that students had done for the Design and Technology and Art assignments. There was lots of fashion items, inventions, even a home designed power boat, but what caught my eye the most was the Kombi. That's right, one boy had restored a bay window Kombi (complete with P plates) inside and out including paint and body work and a complete interior fit out. The interior was very tastefully… Continue

August? What Happened?????

What happened,,, August was here now gone. I cannot believe that I have not fulfilled any cultural activities. It looks like projectitice. I am still waiting to get the new carb for the beast. Maybe it was the fact that it was soo hot around here and my enthusiasm waned. I have been looking around town for parts and trinkets. I have seem to run out of steam for now. Maybe when the weather cools down. The other half of my problem is football, it takes my weekends. I have season tickets to the… Continue

Rat Day 2009

Wow. What a fantastic day. I was amazed at the amount of cars, all the way from rats on trailers to concourse restos. Absolute classics to modern day intepretations. I cruised over with my son Liam in the T3 driving along with Coupons in his rat splitty, leaving just after 8:30am.

My car isn't exactly a rat, so I was intending to park somewhere inconspicuous and take in the sights. I kind of got swept into the sports field along with… Continue
