16" syncro, the beast is coming!

ok, some of you may know i own a rare 16" syncro doka, there were no "official" 16" syncro's imported into Oz, there were 2 brought over in 1990 (i think) for the Australia taga rally, one was a factory built RHD double cabine(doka) the other was a RHD panel van, the panel van dissappeared, its un-clear wether the van was shipped back to Germany, or if it was sold here in Oz, the doka was sold in Oz, it was in Sydney for a while, then it lived in WA for a while and i believe is again on the… Continue

T3 Interior

Just for fun I've decided to keep going with the black leather lounge theme and have started trimming the rear passenger compartment. The think padding behind the leather is also having an insulating effect so the bus is now quieter inside.

I have also fitted a better black cloth covered middle row of seats. I know it's not exactly a limo, but people sitting in the back are pretty comfy now.

Next job is to install a pair of charcoal grey Honda Prelude seats for the front… Continue

T3 Armrests

Have now installed the first arm rest. Needed captive plastic inserts for the doors to screw into. Couldn't find any T3 ones, so used them from a '76 Beetle. They worked fine.

Quick spin down to the Royal National Park and the Seabridge 16.8.09

went for a quick trip with Sez down to the RNP and the seabridge. weather was awesome. so warm. got a bit cold on the way back, but other than that was tops days out.

Tinted tail lights

Just bought some tint film off eBay and tinted my tail lights. I run LED inserts so they are plenty bright through the film. If there are any problems with rego it's as easy as peeling the film off on the spot.…

Some more of my lounge - now in my T3...

Just used a bit more of the black leather from my old lounge to trim the rear tailgate. Yeah yeah I know...don't give up my day job, but I'm having fun...and I think my bus is starting to become individual.

It might not be to everybody's taste, but at least it's consistent.…

A few black touches

Just got out the spray can and added some black detail to the trusty old T3. Firstly, using satin black I sprayed the section under the front windscreen where the windscreen wipers mount. I think this lets the wipers and washers blend in a little better.
