VolksCulture is having a big launch at Old Bar in October and we need another competent guitarist or keyboard player to help out the VolksCulture rock band. We'll be playing popular songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s & 90s. So far we have a lead singer, guitar, bass and drums but we feel another musician, or even 2, would complete the sound.
If you are going to Old Bar, are a capable player who is able to pick up pop and rock rhythm parts and simple riffs, and you can make a few…

Hi, hows it goin? I'm new on this forum and would like to introduce myself. My name is John and I'm have an illness called Kombi Fever. At present I have 2 Bay Kombis. "Kramer and Annabelle" 8 months ago I had none and I find myself looking at the for sale post daily. I reside in Caboolture and am hoping to catch up with the Sunny Coast Krew at some stage very soon. Cheers.

Why is it that modern cars will race up behind me and expect that the sheer amount of wind they displace will push me forward?
I have my slow moving vehicle sign on and my "stay off my ass" roadsign in the back window. You'd think that'd be a hint.
Oh wait, the fact I'm a freakin' VW bus...that should be hint enough!!

Low Light Microbus Deluxe, required for restoration. Good to excellent condition, needing minimal rust work and ideally with its original interior intact.
Please call me on 0409 999 616 or email garry@competefirst.com.au with photographs, location and asking price. As I am located in Melbourne the more local the vehicle the better, although will travel for the right project.
Best regards,
Garry

WOODGAS POWERED VW'S
Fuel shortages during WWII prompted searches for alternative fuels in England, Germany, Scandinavia and many other countries. One of the most unusual solutions involved the modification of vehicles for use with wood, charcoal, or coal. Typical…

Just got back from the shooting of Top Gear episode 5, and yes, you will probably see me in the audience. The interesting part is that they featured a low light Bay Kombi Camper in one of their challenges and, completely unrelated, the special guest celebrity spoke about a 1960 splitty amongst other things. I had no previous knowledge of any of it.
Can't provide details or I will be shot, but it will be worth watching. Screening on June 8th…

A quick thanks to
Matt Schell for letting me use a pic I took of his old school Beetle rod for the new Volks Culture banner at the top of the site. Hope to see this cool ride close-up again at Berry this weekend.

Farhan joined Volks Culture from Malaysia the other day. We had a good chat tonight and he has posted some photos of his bus up. He mentioned that the culture over there tends to be for less modified cars than Australia. He belongs to
VW Club Selangor and he likes the way that we do things over here just fine.
He owns a red & white Bay panel and a 1970 Beetle as…
