Yes they were the Atlas ones. I know not everyone has the problem and it was probably an unusual combination of things but they cut nearly 1/2 cm deep into the tyre before I realised it. They probably flapped too much. They came with the car, maybe they hadn't been installed correctly... All gone now!

Don't get the clip on types. We had them on our '52* and they eroded a groove deep into the tyre sidewall.

Just kept the 175/55s for the frot and put 14" tubes in em and put some 186/65s on the rear with 185/65/15 tubes. bit of muckin round with studs and adapters etc but after the alignment its worth it. def prefer the vintage look over the trendy wheels look!

Handles alot beter than the canvas ive been sliding around on.
ive decided that the gas burners are so 2011, im going back to the 50s and i think i like it!
