While I managed to score some parts for the Panel over the next year or so there was no real progress until my wife and I moved out of Sydney in 2002 to spend a year in Orange. Here are some of the pics of the move to Orange:

Here's the Panel on a tilt tray leaving Kenards at Toongabbie.

And then arriving at our new place at Spring Hill outside Goulburn.

And finally here is the Panel happily settled.

Through the fabulous Fabion Corio and a work colleague who is a Beetle junkie I soon found out about Brian Keegan, brother of Peter Keegan, and panel beater specialising in older cars. Brian got the Panel in about October of '02 and began work on it as we chucked him money here and there. Here are a few pics of it in the process of rust repairs.

But with the end of the year came the end of my job so soon at the beginning of 2003 we found ourselves heading for the Southern Tablelands and a permanent position while the Panel stayed with Brian to be finished. I have to say that the removalists we excellent. They moved all of the car parts....INCLUDING a 1600dp I'd picked up for the '67.....even though they'd stated in the contract that they did not move those sort of items. If you are moving in the Central West of NSW or are moving to there let me know and I'll fill you in on a phone number. These guys are the best.
