we just picked up a 68 semi auto beetle
will sort out the semi auto clunkyness first then rust repair in the battery area
thinking of lowering the front - whats the go here - will 2&1/2 inch dropped spindles do the trick ??
advice would be nice
also need some rusty roof racks if anyone got em
sounds like fun, i always thought 2 1/2 inch dropped spindles wasnt enough, but for an every day road car they do a beautiful job, my bro got em on his, with a standard beam.
my bro got a bulk order of bits from the USA when the exchange rate was really good, so im not sure on the price, otherwise the discs bought the wheels out more than the spindles did, but with stock wheels i dont see it being a problem. check out my albums theres a few pics there of his car, its got 6 inch pursuit rims on it with 45 series tyres
well
addes new ball joints tie rod ends discs and pads and bearings new shockies to the front
put the drop spindles on and dropped the car back on its wheels
outer edge of stock tyres (165) rubbing on the inner edge of the guards
bugger
will try to adjust the camber and tie rods ( thanks to advice from the bob jane bloke)
jack went off to Tim J';s for some repairs
to start with Tim needed to adjust the offset on his front wheels cos the tyre rub now Jack has dropped spindles
